The Birmingham Parks and Rec Board made money moves on Thursday as it announced prices for the Magic City Classic tailgate spots are increasing. The decision was met with mixed reaction on social media.The price will jump from $140 to $400 for a four-day tailgating spot. The increase is intended to improve the fan experience.Most comments were supportive of the $260 jump, but WVTM 13 wanted to know what prompted the increase in the first place. The park board president, Walter Body, said it wants to make some major improvements to the stadium.The last time Legion Field saw some upgrades was just before the World Games in 2022 and it was even longer before that with improvements made in 1996 during the Olympics.
