Annie Liao left her secure investment job to go all-in on AI. A Sydney-based former banker and strategy consultant, Liao quit her role in venture capital to start Build Club – a permanent space for the world’s best AI engineers to collaborate and launch their start-ups.
The entrepreneur is one of a growing number of young Australians to leave their corporate jobs and pursue their dreams in artificial intelligence.
What started as Liao and a couple of friends working overtime together has now grown into a community of more than 500 AI engineers and builders. This month they are gaining their own physical “hacker hub” to work from.
