Companies House fees are increasing from £12 to £50 for all types of businesses and methods of incorporation. The increase is justified by spending more money on protecting the integrity of the public register. However, the fee increases may put some people off starting a business. Companies House fees work on a cost recovery basis, with fees covering the costs of services delivered. The changes come in response to legislation passed in Parliament in October 2023.
