Cooler temperatures and rounds of rain in store for Idaho [Video]

Aside from the cloud cover, it has been a pleasant Friday with dry conditions and mild temperatures. Boise will reach near 70° for the rest of the afternoon, with overcast skies continuing into the evening. While a stray shower may be possible in south central Idaho, the Treasure Valley should stay dry.

A significant change in our weather pattern is expected late tonight as a strong cold front approaches. It will move through the Treasure Valley around daybreak on Saturday, bringing widespread showers, some of which could be heavy, through lunchtime. After the front passes, isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon and evening. While they will be widely scattered, there is the potential for brief downpours and lightning in these storms.
