County leader, organizations host neighborhood cleanup in Cordova [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County Commissioner Shante Avant and Memphis City Beautiful will join Cordova residents for a neighborhood cleanup to help combat the litter, on Saturday May 4.

“This is a chance for our youth and community members in Cordova to unite and improve our community,” said Avant. “With so many things happening in our county, this is a chance to do something positive and impact those who reside in my district.”

The event is in coordination with Clean Memphis and it will take place at Fletcher Creek Park, starting at 9:30 with a registration and go until noon.

This is one of multiple events hosted by Memphis City Beautiful to get litter picked up around the city. According to the organization, in 2023 they worked with more than 3,600 Memphis volunteers and over 30,000 hours of community service were completed.
