A cyberattack on a health care company is directly affecting Mainers.Change Healthcare, one of the largest health care technology companies in the United States, was hit with a cyber attack on Wednesday. Change Healthcare is part of UnitedHealth’s Optum. The attack is affecting several large pharmacies – and those who need medication. Walgreens confirmed to WMTW that a ‘small’ amount of customers were affected.”Our pharmacy operations, and the vast majority of prescriptions are not being impacted by this third-party issue,” their statement reads. “For the small percentage that may be affected, we have procedures in place so that we can continue to process and fill these prescriptions with minimal delay or interruption.” Those issues on a national level are having local consequences.
