OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Early morning thunderstorms quickly cleared out of the area before sunrise, leaving behind a few pockets of mist and drizzle through mid-morning. Low clouds thinned out by afternoon allowing for at least partly sunny skies drier weather. A steady north wind at 10 to 20mph kept temperatures on the cooler side for early May, with afternoon highs in the lower 60s for most of the metro. Skies will continue to clear this evening with those north winds starting to relax a bit. As we approach sunset, we should see light winds and temperatures quickly cooling into the 50s. It will be a bit on the chilly side overnight as low temperatures dip into the lower 40s in the metro. Some areas north of I-80 may even briefly dip into the upper 30s by Sunday morning.
