The business also owns the Gorillas brand, which will close in the UK as well.
The Turkish business was once valued at $12 billion, but has struggled since the pandemic amid mounting losses. In a funding round in September of last year, its valuation was cut to $2.5 billion.
In 2021, Getir signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur that saw the brand name featured on the front of the club’s training kits. It was Spurs’ first-ever front-of-training-shirt sponsorship.
Today, it said it would close all of its non-Turkish operations to focus on its home country, which brings in 93% of its revenue.
