Economy, foreign aid take center stage at State of the Union address [Video]

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – President Joe Biden addressed Congress and the nation in his annual State of the Union speech. He talked about many of the issues concerning Americans, from the economy, foreign wars, and the migrant crisis at the southern border.

While the State of the Union is an official speech, President Biden touched on many key election year issues.

“We can proudly say the state of our union is strong and getting stronger,” Biden said.

During the speech the president touted his achievements. 

“Now our economy is the envy of the world. 15 million new jobs in just three years, a record,” he said.

He once again called on the House to take up the bipartisan border security bill, but it was met with criticism. 

“Oh, you don’t think so? Oh, you don’t like that, bill, huh? That conservatives got together and said it was a good bill. I’ll be darned,” he stated.
