Elevate Rapid City one of 13 recipients of recent wave of child care grants [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Childcare services in Rapid City may be in for a nice boost.

Tuesday, multiple recipients across the state were announced to receive childcare grants as part of Governor Kristi Noem’s Investment Plan for Child Care.

One of the recipients was Elevate Rapid City.

More than 40 organizations applied for the recent round of grant funds which totaled over 3-point-7 million dollars … with 13 grants being awarded.

The grant funds will go towards projects to help strengthen and improve childcare services … foster after-school initiatives through partnerships and provide a business accelerator program that will create business startups.

Elevate Rapid City community manager Laura Jones explained why they were one of the few entities in West River awarded the funds.
