A new restaurant has finally opened in the former Bonobo Pizza in Portland’s West End.Calafia offers flavors from California and Mexico, with a little bit of Maine influence. It is actually owned by the same people who most recently owned Bonobo.”I grew up in San Diego, my dad had businesses on both sides of the border, so we grew up crossing the border all the time,” said owner Dominique Gonzalez. “I remember that really fondly and we wanted to bring a little sense of that here.”Gonzalez and her husband, Justin Grey, wanted a restaurant to call their own.
