It’s been years in the making and now there are concepts for two surface lots at the end of Elysian Fields Avenue.Leslie Alley with the French Market Corporation said the community has spoken and they want what she calls “parking plus.”“You’re anticipating sort of a vestibule wrapped around the front that has shops, offices and different service uses in there, and within that, you would have stacks of parking,” said Alley.Alley says other plans include public restrooms that would be open late and spaces for artists who work along Frenchmen Street.“They have issues with musicians being able to load in and load out safely at night,” said Alley.Gary De Leaumont has lived in the Marigny for more than 40 years.
