LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The wife of a man being held captive by the Taliban for 20 months said she’s disappointed in the U.S. Government.
Anna Corbett’s husband, Ryan Corbett, has been wrongfully detained for more than 600 days by the people who encouraged him to help Afghans.
“He’s endured unspeakably brutal treatment,” Anna Corbett told lawmakers on Tuesday. “We can and we must do better for our loved ones.”
The Corbetts, who have family in Louisville, helped the local economy, serving as a small business incubator for Afghans for more than a decade.
Now, he’s been wrongfully detained by the Taliban for more than 600 days.
“If Ryan makes it out of Afghanistan alive, our three children and I worry that he will be unrecognizable to us and unable to ever fully recover,” Anna Corbett said.
