Interview with director Ky Dickens and Exec Producer Catherine Gray of Show Her The Money

SHOW HER THE MONEY, a feature length documentary, tells a story that’s never been told and convincingly addresses why women get less than 2% of available venture capital. It showcases the personal stories of exceptional women and demystifies the world of venture capital.

Featuring prominent female investors who invest in diverse women entrepreneurs with innovations that could change the world, SHOW HER THE MONEY reminds us that money is power and women need it to achieve true equality.

The creators of the film are heading to Palm Springs for a special presentation screening of the feature-length documentary followed by a panel discussion that includes the film’s director Ky Dickens, producer and executive producer Catherine Gray, executive producer Dawn Lafreeda, executive producer Sharon Gless. The Palms Springs screening on February 12 is one stop on a 50-city global tour for change.

Directed by documentary filmmaker Ky Dickens (Zero Weeks, Sole Survivor, The City That Sold America, Fish Out of Water), and edited by Liz Kaar, (Body Parts; The Dilemma of Desire) the film is executive produced by multi-Emmy-winning actor Gless, Catherine Gray, Dawn LaFreeda, Ky Dickens, and Wendy Ryan. Gless is featured in the documentary, along with Gray, LaFreeda and Ryan. By turns unflinching expose, profile on extraordinary women and cautionary tale, SHOW HER THE MONEY lays out a powerful case for financing businesses founded and/or helmed by women.

“Women have been barred from the highest levels of power because they have been shut out of the financial world,” states SHOW HER THE MONEY director and executive producer Ky Dickens. “I hope SHOW HER THE MONEY pulls back the curtain on a world that has felt elusive to so many women and gives them the voice to demand a seat at the table.”

“We want SHOW HER THE MONEY to move the needle by telling the stories of these exceptional women,” says Gray, “our a 50-city global tour for change sponsored by Wells Fargo, aims to increase awareness about female-run venture capital funds and encourage more women to become angel investors.”
