KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The crack of the bat. The roar of the crowd. The sounds of baseball season are back, and the Boys in Blue return to Kauffman Stadium.

With the start of the 2024 season comes a renewed sense of optimism for the Royals, anchored by one of the best young stars in the game — Bobby Witt, Jr.

The Royals spent a decent chunk of change in the offseason, too. Starting pitchers Michael Wacha and Seth Lugo signed free agent deals, outfield Hunter Renfroe brings some pop to the lineup, and relievers Will Smith, Chris Stratton and John Schreiber figure to improve a bullpen that was one of the league’s worst in 2023.
