Judge hears arguments in case over sale of alcohol in Railyard on Husker gamedays [Video]

A legal fight between Railyard neighbors over alcohol sales from windows in the outdoor market during home Husker football games landed in a Lincoln courtroom.

“This is our third trip to the courthouse,” said Omaha attorney Ronald Krause, who is representing Friends Family LLC, which does business as Hiro 88.

In 2022, The Bar at the Yard, which does business as Longwell’s, sued Hiro 88, but a squabble over what documents Longwell’s would have to turn over led to delays.

Friday’s hearing initially was set on Hiro 88’s motion to dismiss the case over Longwell’s failure to turn over financial records, which alleges Hiro 88 has interfered with Longwell’s exclusive rights under its lease to sell alcohol on about 16 days coinciding with Nebraska home football games in 2022 and 2023.
