Kalen DeBoer adds Alabamas 1st out-of-state commit to the class of 2025 [Video]

Smith, listed as an athlete at 5-foort-10, 1660 pounds, is being recruited as a cornerback. According to ESPN, Rivals and On3, Smith is a four-star. He’s the Tide’s first out-of-state commit in the class, and fourth overall. He joins running back Anthony Rogers, defensive lineman Antonio Coleman and athlete Myles Johnson.

As a junior at North Caroline, Smith totaled 670 yards and eight touchdowns as a running back in nine games. He also caught four touchdowns. Smith made 22 tackles and intercepted three passes with a forced fumble on defense. The Bulldogs went 9-2 last fall and reached the second round of the playoffs.

UA’s class is currently ranked 28th overall per 247Sports. The Tide are 11th in the SEC over Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt — those programs have won commit apiece.
