Kansas City council takes no action after mayor’s comments on migrants [Video]

A proposed resolution to reaffirm that Kansas City will not become a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants has been shot down. The resolution was sponsored by Kansas City councilmember Nathan Willet, who said he was concerned about the city losing state dollars. The resolution was heard in the city’s special committee on legal review on Tuesday and the committee did not take a vote on the issue, instead, held it off the docket which essentially killed the resolution. “I texted a couple of people I know there and asked how has the comments been taken down there with the attorney general and the mayor, everybody is talking about it down there, and I do think that is a potential risk this is how you can assure that does not happen,” Willet said.
