Kevin Bacon cuts loose ahead of Footloose high schools final prom [Video]

PAYSON, Utah (KUTV) – After four decades, Kevin Bacon returned to the Utah high school where the classic 80s movie “Footloose” was filmed – just in time for prom.

Bacon visited Payson High School on Saturday, the day of the school’s prom, which was themed “Everybody Cut Footloose.” The 1984 film “Footloose,” which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, was filmed at the school. Bacon starred in the movie as teenager Ren McCormack, who wants to overturn his small town’s ban on dancing.

“It’s been a long time. It’s been 40 years. That just blows my mind,” said Bacon in a speech while visiting the campus.

The film’s anniversary inspired students and community members to start a “Bacon to Payson” campaign to get Bacon back to the school before its planned demolition in spring 2025.
