Legislators and advocates look at health, guns, and protecting citizens [Video]

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – The legislative session kicked off its second week, and they came in swinging with several hot-button issues.

Lawmakers and advocates looked at healthcare guns and protecting vulnerable adults and children.

On Monday, the House judiciary committee was busy looking at several hot-topic bills.

The first looked at abortion, specifically a bill that would require facilities to be licensed as surgical abortion facilities and to give criminal penalties or civil damages for violations of these rules.

“What this bill does is try to make it so that no one can access safe and legal abortions, and it is dishonest to the people of Wyoming. If we want to bring in an abortion ban in this state, we’re going to need to do it through constitutional amendment.
