Okla. — Several private schools in our area have already begun accepting applications for the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit.

This program offers families a refundable tax credit to help pay for private school tuition.

Some families have already found this to be helpful, while others are not in support of how this program is designed.

FOX23 has a look at both sides.

“We are just so excited that Oklahoma passed this,” said Erin Kelly, parent.

Kelly recently got approved for the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit.

She said this made all the difference for her family to now be able to afford to send their daughter to private school in the fall.

“We’ve always wanted to go to private school,” she said. “This definitely gave us the final nudge, yes, this was meant to be, because we probably would have had to get financial aid if we wanted to send her to any of the schools.”
