Maggie Haberman Reacts to Trump’s Lack of Support at Trial [Video]

Opening arguments in Donald Trump’s New York criminal trial kicked off on Monday and relatives of the former president were nowhere to be found. Additionally, Trump was miffed by the lack of supporters outside the courthouse.

He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Appearing on Monday’s AC360, CNN’s Maggie Haberman, who has been at the courthouse in Manhattan, offered her perspective.

“The fact that the former president has no family with him, no, you know, friends, just got his legal team,” Anderson Cooper said. “He was upset about the lack of proximity of supporters outside the courthouse.”

“Yeah, so it has been striking that there’s no family because I know that there was some discussion at some point in the last couple of weeks about who would be with him in court,” Haberman responded. “And last week, which was just jury selection, there weren’t that many people.”
