Vertigenius, the Dublin-based MedTech company specialising in the treatment of vertigo, has raised €2.1m in a seed funding round.
The firm will create 10 new jobs and expand in the UK and US with the investment, which was significantly oversubscribed and led by Atlantic Bridge, with investments from Ascentifi and Enterprise Ireland.
Founded by vestibular expert Dr Dara Meldrum, Vertigenius aims to improve the delivery of care to people suffering from vertigo, an often debilitating condition affecting 390m people worldwide.
A shortage of vestibular therapists means that treatment can be delayed or made accessible, and the complexity of prescribed exercises can cause patients to struggle with adherence to the treatment.
Vertigenius has developed a wearable head sensor and software that allows therapists to prescribe and track exercises carried out by patients, monitor patient symptoms and gain insights into the effectiveness of treatments.
