OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – In the midst of dealing with damage from Friday’s tornadoes that tore through parts of the area, the Better Business Bureau says it’s important to take a step back and pause. Times of tragedy sometimes bring out scammers looking to make a buck.

When you lose everything, community assistance can only do so much.

“If their home is completely destroyed and they have to build from the ground up, they need to make sure they have a builder’s license. It’s got to be a Class C, B or A.”

Omaha-based contractor Joshua Conner, owner of Artisan Roofing, says messy situations can become even more cumbersome.
