TANGENT, Ore — Western Oregon will soon have a new college campus that will focus on an important program.
Along Looney Lane in Tangent, 53.5 acres of land located right next to the Cascade Equine Veterinary Clinic will become the site of Linn-Benton Community College’s new agriculture campus. Jenny Strooband is the Department Chair of Agricultural Sciences at the College.
She said, “This is great news for us this has been — we’ve been working on this project for about five years, so we knew we were going to have to go through a re-zoning process.”
She is very grateful the Linn County Board of Commissioners allowed the re-zoning. The new facility will feature larger classrooms, several paddocks, and new barns for horses and other animals like pigs and sheep that will be raised and studied by students.
