New Harmony hopes the large amount of visitors increases tourism | News [Video]

NEW HARMONY, Ind. (WEVV) — With the large crowds that were expected in New Harmony, many local businesses took full advantage of promoting their products and even adding some cool solar eclipse merchandise.

Many businesses across the small historic town offered their own versions of themed products. Items from shirts to specialty drinks and foods were created. 

The New Harmony Soap Company created their own themed soap. 

Angelica Rexing, the owner of New Harmony Soap Company says that the soap is made to look like an eclipse. “Jasmine, sandalwood, and nag champa. If you look at it, it has cool colors and then, of course the little center, that’s the moon here covering the sun,” says Rexing. 

The streets of New Harmony were filled with out of towners to visit a total solar eclipse that won’t be seen in this area for another 300 years.
