New plans are being revealed for the closing of Barney Allis Plaza parking garage.The topic of what to do with the parking garage and park has been a topic of debate for years at Kansas City City Hall.The Plaza and the underground parking garage have been in disrepair for years. The lower levels were closed due to crumbling concrete, and the park on top is rarely used.Those were the reasons the city decided to close the structure in mid-April, and now the City Council Finance Committee has endorsed a plan to start demolishing the structure on May 1st.
