Norris pitcher throws no-hitter in first start after medical emergency [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Colton Homolka sat down in Norris’ dugout after pitching against Bennington at the EMC Tournament on April 9. He wasn’t making much sense when talking, according to Norris head coach Sean Bartholomew. Then, Homolka’s eyes rolled back, prompting immediate concern among Homolka’s coaches and players.

An ambulance quickly arrived and took Homolka to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for heat exhaustion. Bartholomew said the experience was harrowing, and he’s thankful for a positive outcome.

On Friday, Homolka returned to the field as the Titans faced Waverly at the Spartan Invite. The senior right-hander pitched one of the best games of his career, striking out five batters and tossing a no-hitter. Fans cheered Homolka, and the entire Titans’ team, following an impressive 10-0 victory over Waverly. The winning pitcher was embraced by several of his teammates and coaches following the win.
