OLD FORGE, N.Y. — Don’t think for one minute they don’t know how to have a good St. Patrick’s Day time up north.
A sea of green along Main Street turned out to watch the 24th St. Patrick’s Day parade in Old Forge.
“It’s fantastic to see that crowd,” said Tourism Director Mike Farmer.
The crowds lined Main Street for the annual parade and according to Farmer, it’s just the beginning of a weekend of fun.
“Whenever we have an event, they know we’re going to go all out, so they come and support all of that, that makes it such a good time and that’s what makes it fun and productive for the locals,” Farmer said.
This year’s grand marshals were Chip Kiefer and Katie Boesche.
Kiefer, an original organizer of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with Tim Foley, stepped down as the chair of the event last year.
