Olympic volleyball setter Jordyn Poulter is getting back into the swing of things after injury [Video]

(NEXSTAR) – Starting setter for the U.S. women’s volleyball team in Tokyo, Jordyn Poulter, is getting back into the swing of things after a “gnarly knee injury” in December 2022.

“I think for me it was the first significant injury that I’ve had in my career, that’s taken me out of the game for you know multiple months,” Poulter said.

The 26-year-old from Denver, Colorado was part of the team that brought home the gold in 2020. Poulter said she is looking forward to hopefully having the chance to compete in Paris and talked about her role as a setter.

“Being a setter too, you are so connected to your teammates because you rely on your passers and your hitters, you’re kind of the middle man, you know.”

Poulter was named “Best Setter” at the Tokyo Olympics.
