Omaha street closures, lane restrictions affect drivers [Video]

Multiple projects around Omaha will affect traffic over the next week. Utility work is impacting drivers on Leavenworth Street.The city said there will only be one lane in each direction between south 43rd and 45th streets near the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It started this Wednesday morning, and Metropolitan Utilities District said it will last seven days. Omaha Public Works said Farnam Street will be restricted to just one lane westbound at South 14th Street at the corner of the Gene Leahy Mall.Crews will be doing fiber optic installation that will last about a week starting Wednesday.Interstate 480 will be closed in both directions from 20th Street to the Missouri River Project starting at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.The closure will only be overnight, and it will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday.The closure is to allow the installation of an overhead sign.Those who will need to cross the Missouri …
