With less than four days until a key sales tax referendum, the owners of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs gave their pitches to Jackson County voters before Tuesday’s election.Royals owner John Sherman and Chiefs owner Clark Hunt have the fates of their stadium plans on the line with that vote.”I’ve looked at a lot of these types of things around the country. When you have a public referendum, they’re always close,” Sherman said. “This is a generational decision point for Kansas City, for Clark and I, our franchises,” he added.”We think this is a very exciting opportunity for the community to continue a partnership.
