Schools in the Ozarks asking parents to sign up for bus transportation for next school year and summer school classes [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — School districts across the Ozarks are starting to prepare for this summer and fall, and they’re asking families to help with that process.

This week, SPS families received an email requesting they notify the district of their plans to ride the school bus this fall. Students must register each year to receive transportation for the following school year.

“It is very important for us to know the number of students who are going to be participating in transportation. We know the number of students who are eligible for transportation, but that doesn’t mean that all of them will be taking advantage of their eligibility. By having the students and families let us know their intention in regard to using eligibility for transportation, it allows us to begin the routing process,” says Stephen Hall, the Chief Communications Officer for Springfield Public Schools.
