The Gamecocks are the only undefeated team left in all of college basketball and they will start the first two rounds at home.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — For the third consecutive season, the South Carolina women’s basketball team has earned the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed.

The Gamecocks will host first and second round games at Colonial Life Arena this weekend. Carolina’s opening game will be Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm against the winner of Sacred Heart (24-9) and Presbyterian (20-14). Those two teams will meet Wednesday at the Colonial Life Arena in the NCAA First Four with the winner earning the right to face the Gamecocks on Friday.

No. 8 seed North Carolina (19-12) and No. 9 seed Michigan State (22-8) comprise the rest of the four-team Columbia bracket.

The Gamecocks (32-0) have been to three consecutive NCAA Final Fours and are chasing a fourth.
