SPOKANE, Wash. – The first 14 miles of the Centennial Trail will be temporarily closed for resurfacing the trail with new asphalt.

The project will extend from the Washington/Idaho State line to the Donkey Islands Trailhead in Millwood starting mid-April.

The new asphalt layer hopes to provide trail users with better surfaces for walking, biking and riding.

The original asphalt was placed back in 1989-1994 when the trail was first constructed.

Friends of the Centennial Trail hope to ensure the use of the trail for the next 25 years with this project.

The construction is expected to be completed by early September but updates on the project can be found here.
