Stevens Point small business to be featured on Project Pitch It [Video]

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – Wisconsin ranks as the third highest for adult alcohol consumption in the United States according to a study from The National Library of Medicine.

Two Stevens Point small business owners aim to give people an alternative to alcohol. Mindy McCord and Layne Cozzolino are about to make their debut on a show called ‘Project Pitch It.’ It’s like ‘Shark Tank’ for Wisconsin start-ups. The show will air on April 6, but they already recorded it.

“We had to have a polished pitch to go up in front of these investors and speak about what our goal was and what we were trying to accomplish,” said Mindy McCord, co-founder of Siren Shrub Co.

The goal, as it’s been since the start of 2017, is to sell these drink add-ins similar to simple syrup.

“A tangy apple cider vinegar-based mixer,” McCord said.
