Two legal cannabis proposals in Village of Horseheads [Video]

VILLAGE OF HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – This week the Village of Horseheads could move closer to opening its first legal marijuana business. Two separate proposals at different locations, one for a licensed cannabis greenhouse, the other for a licensed dispensary, are on the agenda for this Thursday’s Village Board of Trustees meeting at 6 p.m.

3312 South Main Street – Cannabis Cultivation

The Board is expected to vote on a “Special Use Permit” for a “Cannabis Cultivation” site on 3312 South Main Street, near I-86. A company called “UpState Craft Cannabis” told the Village it is a husband and wife team with no other staff. The company says it will only sell marijuana to licensed cannabis retailers across New York State.

The Village says action on a resolution was tabled during a meeting on February 12th. The minutes from that meeting state:
