Uproar in SF Chinatown over sober living facility [Video]

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – There is uproar in San Francisco’s Chinatown after small business owners say they were blindsided by the news that San Francisco’s mayor has plans for a sober living facility in the area. They agree people need the help but believe the location chosen is not appropriate, and they would have liked to have been included in the conversation sooner.

Merchants who spoke to KRON4 agree that people need to be helped by the city but worry that putting a sobriety home in the center of bars and businesses may not be the best move.

Eva Lee grew up in Chinatown and says her family has owned retail property there since the 1950s.
