One of the biggest inventions to control people from enforcing free will is the days of the week…

The whole idea that Monday to Friday is meant for work, and weekends for personal work and relaxation is born out of the Industrial Revolution.

Quite like the concept of schooling…

Teach skills and time management that ingrains in you from an early age that you’re supposed to do regimented things in a controlled environment to obey orders for 5 days…

And then let lose for 2 days.

It absolutely kills the entrepreneurial ability of an entire nation.

Ask a founder what plans for the weekend… and they’ll mostly laugh and say, haha, nothing, just will finish off some work I couldn’t get done over the past week.

Now this does not mean they don’t have work life balance…

They could very well be managing some personal tasks over the week.

I think the first step in building an entire generation of entrepreneurs in India would be to train the children not to follow the concept of the week and the weekend as much as getting them into prioritising everything in life and balancing to finish everything during the week but on their own timeline.

As long as their chosen timeline doesn’t hurt anyone else and gets the job done…

Just removing the concept of a weekend will help them become more entrepreneurial when they grow up.
