Why Kofi Kapito believes releasing ‘dumsor’ timetable will be difficult [Video]

The Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Protection Agency, Kofi Kapito, has stated that the current energy crisis makes it difficult for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to issue a load-shedding timetable.

Unlike past situations where power cuts were mainly due to generation capacity constraints, Mr. Kapito said the current complexity is due to financial limitations.

He argued that, addressing the financial challenge would eliminate the need for a ‘dumsor’ timetable.

“As we all know it is not like before when we used to build some transformers which we knew is going to take us some months and so we have to do some proper plan and then bring out a timetable.
