Action24 secures 3m funding from BGF [Video]

Dublin house alarm company Action24 has closed a funding round with growth capital investor BGF worth €3m.

BGF previously invested €3.6m in the company when it acquired a minority stake in 2022, and the latest funding round ensures that the group will continue to hold a significant minority stake in Action24.

Action24 was founded by Derek Mooney in 1981 and has been led by CEO Aaron Mooney since 2018.

The company, which uses software from Alarm.com to power its alarm monitoring service, has 20,000 customers nationwide and employs 87 staff from its facility in Sandyford.

Customer numbers have increased from c. 13,000 since BGF’s initial investment, and the company has also acquired a number of business, including Integral Security Ltd, Wilson Security Systems, as well as the customer book of Smartzone out of receivership.
