Dublin ranked as sixth-best European city for start-up businesses [Video]

Dublin ranks as the sixth-best European city for start-up businesses due to its highly-educated, entrepreneurial workforce and tax exemptions and incentives, according to The Knowledge Academy.

Dublin scored 8.1 out of 10 in the study, putting the Irish capital behind Paris (8.87), Madrid (8.84), Barcelona (8.83), London (8.27) and Lyon (8.23).

The study found that Dublin has 108 available office spaces, again sixth-highest among the 28 cities included in the study with London (522) far outpacing the rest.

However, Dublin had the third-highest rent index measurement at 57.2 behind only London (70.9) and Geneva (66.5), indicating the expense of securing office space in the city.

Paris (42.2), Madrid (31.9), Barcelona (32.7) and Lyon (23.8), which all placed above Dublin in the overall rankings, all have cheaper average rents.

Dublin was middle-of-the-pack for median fixed broadband speed. Its average of 149.86Mbps was enough for 15th in the study far behind lead Lyon (276.64Mbps) but ahead of major cities like London (109.06), …
