Get it in Chico is still expected to campaign until June. Macarthy says the Chico City Council also allocated money from grants to help small businesses directly.

CHICO, Calif. – The City of Chico’s call to action, Get it in Chico, which helped bring awareness to local businesses, will end in June.

Get It in Chico started in November 2023 to help locals buy from local businesses in Chico.

The Chico City Council paid for Get it in Chico using $200,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act. But the money from that act has run out.

Deputy City Manager Jennifer Macarthy spoke about the importance of the campaign in its final months.
