Green Mountain Transit expects to see a $2.7 million deficit for fiscal year 2026. The bus company said customers and staff could see potential budget cuts starting in mid-2025.As federal pandemic-era funding runs out, GMT said it may have to even cut some bus routes entirely next summer.GMT’s general manager, Clayton Clark, said that to date, GMT has received $17.9 million in pandemic-era financial assistance from the federal government.Clark said the company anticipates it will exhaust those funds by July 1, 2025.
