Iowa, Texas senators roll out bipartisan bill to help small businesses cut through red tape [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Finally, a bill aimed at reducing governmental red tape.

It’s called the Small Business Red Tape Relief Act and it is being introduced in Congress by Reps. Zach Nunn of Iowa and Henry Cuellar of Texas.

So how will passage of the bipartisan bill help area small businesses?

Wendy Pivonka owns Legend Comics and Coffee in downtown Benson. She said running a small business takes a lot of time — stocking, setting up displays, working with customers — and she spends a lot of time filling out paperwork for the government.

“A good 12-15 hours a week minimum,” she said.

She said the Small Business Red Tape Refief Act, if passed, is a godsend to small business owners across the country.
