Lori Vallow Daybell’s brother, uncle look ahead to her husband’s trial [Video]

BOISE, Idaho — With Chad Daybell’s trial right around the corner, Lori Vallow Daybell’s family are trying to emotionally prepare. 

“We are mostly trying to gear up for an onslaught of emotions,” her uncle Rex Conner said. “New information will come out we hope but with that new information, there’s of course the emotional. I’ll say devastation that comes with it as it was a first round.”

Jury selection starts on Monday. An Ada County administrative judge expects the trial to last 8 to 10 weeks, longer than Lori’s trial, because the death penalty is on the table. 

If Chad is found guilty, the roughly two-week penalty phase would start right after the verdict. He faces three counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the deaths of his first wife, Tammy Daybell, and two of Lori’s children.
