‘Small Acts of Community’ initiative started to help revitalize downtown Burlington [Video]

The city of Burlington is launching a new effort aimed at strengthening community spirit.City leaders want people to take “small actions” for the greater good.On Tuesday, new Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak held a press conference announcing the “Small Acts of Community” initiative.It’s meant to encourage people to simply be nice to each other.She wants people to realize the big impacts small acts can make.More than 300 community members have signed this pledge:”We value our community spaces and treat them with care. “We practice kindness, even when we disagree. “We choose love, even when it’s not easy. “We value connection, withholding judgement and seeking understanding.””I invite you to think about this every day in these small acts – smiling when you’re walking by people, picking up the trash in your neighborhood, really just offering a helping hand to someone that you know that is in need,” said Mulvaney-Stanak. “That’s how we build …
