Work begins on incoming Barren County judicial center [Video]

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) – In 2020, Barren County was awarded $32 million to build a new judicial center, and on Wednesday, physical work officially began on the building’s future site.

The project has hit a series of roadblocks since the funding was awarded, though after today, builders are hopeful that the 50,000-square-foot facility on W. Main St. is in the near future.

“I’ve said this before, you only have one chance to get it right. So, you wanna make sure you do all your due diligence to get the right site, the right location. We actually started with this site, for various reasons had to move away from it, but then, eventually, were fortunate to come back here,” said Thomas Gumm, founder of Alliance Construction.
