Former NH firefighter accused in string of arsons [Video]

A former Bradford firefighter is under indictment for allegedly setting a series of fires.The investigation began with a small fire at a building right next to the fire station. According to a police affidavit, the man who discovered the fire in September was the same man who set it.Former Bradford Firefighter Nathan Nichols is charged with seven counts of arson. He’s accused of starting fires around the Bradford area while he was working for the town’s fire department.One of the fires he is accused of setting destroyed a sugar house on Johnson Hill Road in May 2022. According to the indictments, many of the other fires occurred around the same time and involved brush fires in Bradford and the surrounding areas.Investigators began to take another look at those fires when the building next to the fire department caught fire in September.
