Knob Nosters tax hike for new high school failed. Whats next? [Video]

KNOB NOSTER, Mo. (KCTV) – School district leaders in Knob Noster, Missouri were hoping to get the green light on funding to build a new high school campus, but voters said no. Now, school district leaders are going back to the drawing board to figure out what’s next.

Roughly two out of every three voters in the Knob Noster School District rejected the proposition to raise the tax levy to pay for this project.

Looking back, District Administration and locals link harsh economic times to this election outcome. Property and business owners feared it would have priced too many people out of their homes and businesses.

When KCTV 5 last met up with Chuck Copper, he shared his current school tax records totaling $2,300. Under “proposition K”, that amount would spike over $800.
